The purpose of the Planning Commission is to assist the Town Council to anticipate and guide future development and change by preparing plans, ordinances, capital improvements programs, studies, reports, and other documents for consideration by the Town council

Planning Commission Meetings are held quarterly on the first Monday after the first Tuesday in each month at 5:30 p.m. provided there is pending business before the Commission; otherwise, the Commission shall meet at least once per year in accordance with the Code of Virginia. Check local newspapers or this website for schedule changes.

 

Planning Commission meetings are located at Town Hall at 505 E Fifth Street South, Big Stone Gap, Virginia 24219.
