Yes! If you own the property you
are doing work on, you can fill out an affadavit stating that you
are not hiring a contractor to do the work required.
- Is the Building Department closed on holidays?

- Does the work need to be inspected?
Yes! The Uniform Statewide
Building Code requires that when construction reaches a stage
of completion which requires an
inspection, the permit holder shall notify the building official.
Inspections are required for
footings, foundations, structural members before concealment,
electrical, mechanical, and
plumbing materials before concealment, energy conservation
materials before concealment, and a final inspeciton.
If the Building Department is not notified about a required inspection, the work
may not be inspected!
