Name: Irving Guntner CommentsHi Big Stone Gap! My name is Irving Guntner and I went to school in Big Stone from 1930-37. My uncle Ed Guntner managed the Monte Vista Hotel with my Aunt Emma Guntner. I think of Big Stone often even though we moved to Southern California in June, 1937. So many memories of this small beautiful town surrounded by the Powell River. My sister Helen Ruth and I delivered the Knoxville News Sentinel in the evening sometimes in bitter cold and deep snow, but I still loved this town. I wonder if any friends who I went to school with are still living in Big Stone Gap or somewhere in the USA. I would like to hear from them on the internet. I am 82 years old living in an area somewhat like Big Stone Gap. It is 65 miles from Los Angeles in a town called Murrieta. Murrieta is right next to a town named Temecula which is known for its wine vineyards. I just bought a computer and found your Web site, with comments from people who formally lived in Big Stone Gap and most indicated how they miss this pretty town and area. I loved the pictures of Big Stone Gap especially of the Monte Vista Hotel, my former home. I find that your Web is professionally managed and so interesting to browse through. I have been happily married for 55 years and have three beautiful daughters. I loved being able to share this site with the three of them. Again, I am interested in corresponding with anyone who may have known me or my family. You can E-Mail me at iguntner@peoplepc.com. Thanks again, Irving Guntner
