Name: Jason CommentsHello, Big Stone I was wondering why the children of our community don't have any where to do nothing at you say that our town is a fun place to be at but the only fun place is at home because we have nothing to do here. I would like to know why we don't have a place for the kids to do something fun and educational at because when kids are out for school they get bored and have nothing to do. I hope that you will build or make a place for our kids so they will be satisfied. Thank you! Jason

Name: Diane Audas Collins CommentsI will always be indebted to the producer and members of the Lonesome Pine Arts and Crafts Association for the three wonderful years, 1995, 1996 and 1997, I played "June Tolliver". I am honored to have been asked to come back this year to fill in for the current actress playing the role, on evenings she was unable to perform. Each time I have performed this year, I have been reminded of how much I miss playing "June". Anyone who sees the show should know of the hard work and dedication given by each actor and production crew member. If my day job did not require too much travel away from home, I would audition every year until I was too old to carry the youthful role. From mid April - August, the dedication and hardwork from cast members begins, spanning from rehearsals six nights per week through the three nights each week on stage for the show. I admire each and every member of the cast and will always keep my love for the Drama in a special place in my heart.
Name: Buddy Sproles CommentsMermories... sitting by the old coal stove on cold winter days petting my dog... swimming in Powell River... fishing.. floating down the river in an old car top.... squirrel hunting.. camping in Roaring Branch... exploring the caves... and especially all the friendships formed in the 50's in 60's. Seeing BSG on the web certainly makes me think back to those almost mythical years of childhood...

Name: Harold L. Hartford CommentsHow did I find you? I was born in Appalachia, VA in 1951, as well as my father Arvil Hartford in 1917. My wife and I have been to Gig Stone Gap a few times and enjoy the friendlyness of the area. Having left VA. to Florida in 1953, I was the youngest of four. I can not tell you how I feel knowing, yet not knowing friends. I recall trips with my Father to the area where he would tell me stories of the hills (GODS COUNTRY) he calls it. I must say that one day while standing on a hillside over looking to wonders of GODs work, with an aproching storm, I never felt so close to my roots on the hill and my lord. The Post keeps me informed of my little home town and the truly good and wonderful people of the area. I know that when I vist friends they tell me how luckly I am to live in a big city. Life is not eazy in the hills or the city, but one thing is so very true No matter who or where you are or what you become in life, its the small things we work on day after day the have the most meaning to us all. Having a family to talk with in hard times and good times. To set with friends over a cup of morning coffee and talk of world evens. Talking to your son or daughter about lifes walk, then loving them so much to let them walk their own walk. That is what its all about, god bless, JOHN 3;16 Until then
