Water Conservation
Tips
Please do your part to conserve water by following
these simple tips:
Use paper plates and plastic utensils
Buy bottled water for drinking and
cooking
When washing clothing put in a full
load, use the minimum amount of water required and use the shortest
cycle
Run the dishwasher only when it is full
of dishes. If you do not have a dish washer use two basins (one for
wash and one to rinse)
Don’t allow water to continuously run
while brushing teeth, shaving, or showering
Take shorter showers
Take a “military shower” or “a sink
bath”
Fix water or faucet leaks
Don’t wash your cars, boats, or RV’s
Don’t water the lawn
Place a brick in the tank of your
toilet in order to raise the water level in the tank allowing the
floater to shut off quicker
Flush toilets less frequently
Reuse faucet water for mopping,
cleaning, flushing the toilet or watering plants
Defrost frozen food in the refrigerator
or in the microwave instead of using water
Cover your swimming pool to
avoid water loss through evaporation
