"I had interviews with about 25 of the principals in the 1998 peace agreement in Northern Ireland (the Good Friday Agreement), and the book includes the content of those meetings, as well as my experiences living in Belfast as a Fulbright Distinguished Professor, Queens University, Belfast, during this time.

About The Author

Carol Rasnic grew up in Big Stone Gap and was among those in the last graduating class from Big Stone Gap High School in 1959. She then graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in German and from Vanderbilt Law School (1965), J.D. Since then I have been admitted to the bars of Tennessee and Virginia. She has practiced law for both states and was house counsel for Westmoreland Coal Company 1978-1980. Since 1980 she has been professor of law at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.  She recently completed her third Fulbright Senior Scholar award. She has taught every summer (with this summer as an exception) at law schools in Germany and Austria.
