Big Cherry Lake Rules and Regulations

Required Permits:

Virginia State Fishing License

Big Cherry Use Permit

Fishing:

1.    No fishing allowed after sundown.

2.    Boats, and canoes may be used only when propelled by oar, paddles, or electric motors. (no gas powered watercraft)

3.    Creel limit: 6 per day trout per state law. All other fish are catch and release only.

Camping:

1.    Camping will be allowed with special permission of the Town Manager.

2.    No open fires are allowed at any time, or for any reason.

Firewood:

1.    No firewood, limbs, logs, or timber of any kind shall be removed from the lake area or surrounding lands.

Swimming:

1.    Absolutely no swimming allowed at any time.

Firearms:

1.    Firearms are allowed only during hunting season with proper permits and licenses.
