LET’S GO FISHING!

On Wednesday, May 27, 2009, the Big Cherry Reservoir was stocked with trout by the Town of Big Stone Gap. The  reservoir is now open for fishing.

A Big Cherry Watershed use permit, in addition to all appropriate state licenses, is required to fish in the Big Cherry Reservoir.  Use permits may be obtained at the Town Hall, at Big Bore Outfitters, or from the Big Stone Gap police officer patrolling the watershed.  For more information, please call the Town Hall at 523-0115.



Farmers' Market




The BSG Farmers' Market is scheduled for Saturdays from 8:00 AM-Noon every Saturday from May 2 until Oct. 31 - in the downtown parking lot across from the Fire Station on Shawnee Avenue - Rain or Shine.

All bills, including water and tax bills, can be easily paid over the phone with a credit or debit card by calling 523-0115 extension 126. Another easy option for payment of water bills is the Auto Draft System. Each month, the Town of Big Stone Gap can automatically deduct your water bill payment from your bank account. It is a no hassle, easy to set up way of making sure your water bill is always paid, and it is great for avoiding needless trips to the Town Hall or the Post Office.

Town decal deadline was April 15, 2009.  Personal Property Taxes must be paid in order to purchase the decals. Pay your taxes, and purchase your decals by phone.
